MONTHLY CAR CARE TIP #16: Understanding Your Brake System $20 Off an Engine Flush. 33% Discount for our loyal customers. Regular price is $60. Highly recommended for those customers who do not consistently change their oil every 3,000 miles. This service is performed with your oil change and only adds 15 minutes. |
Happy New Year! I hope everyone’s year is off to an incredible beginning. We at Pfefferle Tire & Auto are embracing it with open arms and are ready for all the new challenges that wait ahead.
Nathan Varns is celebrating his 38th birthday on January 14th. DJ Duvan is celebrating his first anniversary with us January 29th. George Kuchma is also celebrating his first anniversary February 12th. February 12th is also a special day for Chris Napier as he will turn 29. Congratulations to all of our birthdays and anniversaries! Thank you gentleman!
Unfortunately, I have some bad news. The price of antifreeze has gone up steadily every month. Now they are going to do the same to oil. Oil and other lubricants will go up 12% on January 21st. We are going to take this and keep our oil change prices the same. Hopefully these price increases stop so we don’t have to raise our prices.
My involvement with the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield is increasing. There are a couple of things to check out while here on your next visit. If you have young children or grandchildren, we have giant coloring books available for a $3 donation. There is also a jar sitting on our front counter for donations for the Joe Nuxhall’s Children Center. This gym will be located next to the One Way Farm in Fairfield and will be available to the community. Help your community by donating a dollar, quarter, dime, nickel, or even a penny. Every cent helps on our quest to $1,000. So far, in just three weeks time, we have collected $22.65.
The special for the month is $20 off an engine flush. We do the engine flush the same time we change the oil and it only takes an additional 15 minutes. The normal price is $60, so this is 33% off! This is good to do every 30,000 miles especially if you do not change your oil every 3,000 miles.
We have also started a new advertising campaign. There will still be coupons available in the Reach Magazine and Valpak mailer, but through our new software system, you will be able to receive e-mail oil change reminders with coupons attached. Although you may receive this e-mail, you may not be set up in our new system to receive these oil change reminders. So make sure to give us your e-mail address again next time you stop in. If you don’t receive it in your e-mail, you will receive it as a postcard in your regular mail. Happy New Year to all and thanks for your loyalty.
Sincerely,
Chris Pfefferle Manager chris@pfefferletire.com -------------------------------------------- Understanding Your Brake System Source: Automotive Service Association To help prevent brake problems or failures, the following regular inspections and maintenance should be performed on your brake system.
Check the fluid levels.
Check the line for rust or punctures. You may be able to do this, but consult a qualified technician if necessary.
Check the brake hoses for brittleness or cracking. This check should be done by a qualified technician.
Check the brake linings and pads for wear, brake fluid or grease. This check should be done by a qualified technician.
Check the wheel bearings and grease seals. This check should be done by a qualified technician.
Adjust the parking brake as required. This adjustment should be done by a qualified technician.
Some signals that may indicate a problem with your brake system are:
Squeals-- caused by excessive heating of brake pads or linings.
Rubbing -- caused by the metal brake rotor rubbing against the metal component of the brake pad. This sound means that the brake pad is completely worn away.
A soft brake pedal indicating that there may be a brake fluid leak or air in the lines.
Brake pull indicating worn linings, stuck pistons in the calipers or wheel cylinders, or saturated linings (caused by grease or brake fluid).
Always consult the vehicle owner's manual for individual service schedules as manufacturer maintenance requirements vary greatly. | Pfefferle Tire & Auto is a proud member of the Automotive Service Association |
