Do you drive your vehicle around with gas light on? Do you consistently run your vehicle low on gas and just add more when the light comes on? If this is you, be careful. Most cars today come equipped with an electric fuel pump. The electric fuel pump uses gas to keep it cool, from overheating; much like antifreeze (coolant) does your engine. When your gas level is low, your fuel pump runs hotter than it normally does when there is plenty of gas in the tank. The more often you run your gas tank low and with the light on, the more likely you are to have a fuel pump failure, which is on average $500 to repair! Keep gas in the tank!
